SKI BRONCS RULES AND REGULATIONS
“2008”


The Board of Directors of the Ski Broncs Inc. will annually review and adopt rules governing the Club prior to the first Club boat practice of the fiscal year.

Prior to review of the Club's individual rules, all members must acknowledge the rules set forth by USAWS and NSSA governing water ski show teams. All members shall review and abide by their requirements.

I. Dues

Fiscal/membership year begins January 1st and dues are payable at that time.
A. Individual “supporting non-skier” $25.00, applies to full membership if elects to ski during the season.
Individual membership fees are $140.00 per year.


B. Family membership “supporting non-skier” $50.00, full membership required if “any” family member skis. Applies to full membership if elects to ski during the season.
Family membership fees are $275.00 per year.

C. For current members, if paying after April 1st, reapplication is required.

D. Starting 10 days after the National's competition through December 31st
Membership fees shall be: Individual ----- $40.00 plus USAWS insurance
Family----------$60.00plus USAWS insurance

E. Dues must be paid in full prior to the first water practice. You will not practice with out a signed, approved payment extension form.
1). If you are unable to pay by the due date, you must request an "extension form” from the president or treasurer.
2). The form must be submitted to the President for approval or denial. No extensions will be granted after April 1st (Prior Members).
3). All extensions are maintained by the membership chairperson, payment must be made in full to participate in the national tournament.

F. In addition to annual club dues, members are required to sell raffle tickets in quantities determined by the raffle chairperson. The number of tickets and dollar amounts will be dependant upon the revenue goals established by the raffle committee but cannot exceed $150.00 annually.

II. Conduct

The following rules are intended to assure that our Club is presented to the public in a positive manner and to assure a positive experience for all.

1) All members must conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner.
2) The use of abusive language will not be tolerated.
3) Absolutely no member under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be allowed to participate in any show or practice activity.
4) Members age 17 or under cannot attend out-of-town functions without a parent or "guardian" appointed by the parent.
5) Members 15 or under are accompanied by a parent or appointed guardian at all club events.
6) No swimming at Shorewood Park.
7) No smoking in the building, skier areas, boats and docks.
8) No personal boats or watercraft launched at the show site, except for Ski Broncs business.
9) No Glass Allowed at the show sight.
10) Park Outside the barriers unless towing boats.
11) No horseplay on or around the docks.
12) All individual or team disputes will be handled in a professional manner through the Board of Directors.
13) In the event of a dispute or concern, the offended or concerned club member must report the issue/issues to the board of directors in writing. The board of directors will review the case as presented and either takes immediate action or schedules a meeting date and time to address the issue based on severity.
14) If the board of directors determines that an individual is in violation of club rules and regulations. One or more of the following penalties will apply.
Skier;
a) 1st offense: Roll ropes and work during the shows and practices for 1 week.
b) 2nd offense: Two weeks suspension from all club activities.
c) 3rd offense: Punishment to be decided upon the severity of the offense, bought before the general membership to vote on the removal from the club. The general membership will vote to determine the members continued status. A 2/3rd vote of the attending membership will be required for removal from the club (See Club By-Laws).
Supporting Member;
a) 1st offense: Written letter of reprimand.
d) 2nd offense: Two weeks suspension from all club activities.
e) 3rd offense: Punishment to be decided upon the severity of the offense, bought before the general membership to vote on the removal from the club. The general membership will vote to determine the members continued status. A 2/3rd vote of the attending membership will be required for removal from the club (See Club By-Laws).

III. Inclement Weather

Cancellation of shows or practices in progress may be called by any two of the following.
1. Safety Director
2. Chief Boat Driver
3. Show Director
4. Any available Board Member
5. Practices will only be cancelled at the sight

IV. Boat and Equipment Usage

1. Only Club members will be allowed equipment usage.
2. Only drivers pre-authorized by the Boat and Motor Director will be allowed to operate Club Boats.
3. Guest Members will be allowed boat and equipment usage only for the promotion of the Club, ski shows, and/or boats. This does not include driving or jump privileges.
4. Misuse of Club equipment will not be tolerated.
5. Boat maintenance: All members are responsible for the care and maintenance of the Clubs boats and equipment. Any boat and equipment damage should be reported to the Boat and Motor Director immediately. Dates for cleaning and maintenance will be scheduled by the Boat and Motor Director.

V. Membership Time Commitment

Members are required to schedule time in some of the following areas in order to help balance work loads.

1. Scheduled work days
2. Club committees
3. Boat preparation
4. Concession stand
5. Fund raising activities
6. Assorted other tasks as needed

Members are expected to work on Club activities. Individual members are expected to work "ALL" of the work days scheduled, unless involved on other time-consuming Ski Broncs activities.

VI. Skies and Equipment

A. Club equipment can be used from Auburn Street Bridge to Riverside Bridge, if prior arrangements have been made with a key holder who will be on site and assumes all responsibility for equipment used.

B. Any member causing damage through misuse of equipment will be fully responsible for repair or replacement.

C. Club equipment can be checked out with approval of the Show Directing Team.


VII. Personal Purchase

Personal purchases through the Club must have Board approval. All Purchases over $100.00 must be paid for prior to ordering.

VIII. Committee Structure

A. Each year the Board of Directors shall establish whatever Committees it feels are necessary for the operation of the Club. The Board of Directors shall also appoint the individual Chairpersons for each of the Committees. The Committees can include, but are not limited to the following list found in Appendix: Committee responsibilities.

B. The responsibility of each committee chairperson is to carry out the function of the Committee. The chairperson shall also maintain all records of said Committee and shall report to the Board of Directors when requested.

C. All Committee heads must submit a detailed budget to the Board of Directors for the annual budget meeting.

D. All Committees will abide by the By-Laws Article X: Business Transactions Section 5.

E. All Committee heads must attend "Executive Meetings" of Committee heads.


Appendix: Committee Responsibilities

1. Book Committee: Organize, oversee, and budget the production and sales of the Ad Book.

2. Collection Committee: Organize and oversee the collections at show sites, including designating who the collectors shall be, counting the funds collected, and turning the funds into the treasurer or designated substitute at each show.

3. Concessions Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for the establishment of menu items, prices, inventories, accounting, and operating personal for concession sales at home shows. A person on this committee must take a course and be certified through the Health Department.

4. Emergency River Queen Towing Committee: Organize and oversee the formation of volunteers to do emergency towing of the Rockford, Park District Queen. Establish a list of available members and provide the list to the Park District.
5. Dock, Jump and Stage Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for the maintenance, replacement, launching, and removal of this equipment before and after the season.

6. Club Boats and Trailer Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for the maintenance and repair of the Club boats, equipment on the boats and boat trailers. Responsible for seeing that the boats are on site and available when required. Organize volunteers to tow Club equipment behind personal vehicles when required by a Club activity.

7. B-Team Director and Committee: Recommended by the Board of Directors. Elected by General Membership. The B-Team director is responsible for developing, overseeing, and coordinating all phases of the B-Team show using beginning or developing personnel with the emphasis on the training of skiers to competent for the A-Team show. Responsibilities include appointing assistants as required and coordinating with the A-Team Show Director for use of all Club equipment and committees.

8. Banquet Committee: Reserve the facility to hold the banquet and arrange for food, set up the hall and organize an agenda and after-dinner entertainment.

9. Corporate Donations Committee: Organize and budget for soliciting corporate donations.

10. Fundraising Committee: Organize and budget for Club fundraising.

11. Newsletter Committee: Coordinate a monthly newsletter. This includes compiling, printing and mailing.

12. Phone Book Committee: Responsible for publishing a Club phone book for members.

13. Promo/Advertising Committee: Under the direction of the Promotions Director, organizes and budgets for advertising and promotion of the Ski Broncs activities.

14. Radios Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for maintenance and purchase of Club Radios.

15. Sound Equipment Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for maintenance and additional equipment. Operate the sound system for all show, tournaments and other events as needed by the club.

16. Workdays Committee: Responsible for scheduling, organizing, and making all workdays productive. Make arrangements to notify all Club members.

17. Skis and Ropes Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for maintenance and replacement of all ski and rope equipment used for the Club.

18. Show Committee: Show Director is head of this Committee. The Show Committee is responsible for overall show development.

Optional Committees:

19. Photography Committee: Organize, oversee and budget for the taking of such photographs and video tapes as the Club may require. Responsible for building a library of committees' products.

20. Social Committee: Organize, oversee and budget social gatherings and events intended to maintain Club contact and morale and to make these events available to the entire Club.

21. Club Clothing/Souvenirs Committee: Responsible for designing, ordering and selling Club clothing, souvenir clothing, and souvenirs to the public.

22. Tournament Committee(s): Organize and budget for all aspects of tournaments.

Show positions appointed by the Show Director

23. Announcer: Responsible for announcing ski shows/tournaments during the current year.

24. Costume Coordinator: Organize and budget for the design, purchase and production of costumes as required by the nature of the theme. Responsible for cleaning costumes.

25. Music Coordinator: Organize, budget, research and oversee the recording of all music required to be a part of the Ski Show. Responsible for the purchase of blank media used for recording and filling out proper paperwork as required for the National Tournament, and establishing a library for reference.

26. Prop Coordinator and Committee: Organize and budget for the construction of props as needed for the Club show.

27. Dock Boss and Crew: Responsible for coordinating skis and ropes on the docks.

28. Chief Boat Driver: Responsible for the selection of tow boat drivers and safety boat drivers. Responsible for developing a list of qualified drivers for the Boat and Motor Director.

29. Safety Director and Committee: Responsible for the overall safety during shows and practices, selection of spotters for tow boats and safety boats, maintaining personnel log for emergency medical use, and an inventory for First Aid Supplies, training of safety boat spotters and dock personnel, ensuring that all Club members sign waivers of Club liability annually.

30. Tournament Committee(s): Organize and budget for all aspects of tournaments.
