Jan 21, 2008 | Letter from Show Directors
Happy New Year,
2008 is upon us and a new ski season draws near. Things are beginning to get revved up with the show committee.
The Theme for lack of better description is going to be a best of type show. We will be revisiting some of the best Acts we put on the water in the past years, with a makeover for the modern day. If all goes as planned it will be a smooth easy going show.
The practice schedule is not yet set, but look for indoor practices to begin in February. We are trying something different this year, and having a lighter winter schedule. The summer schedule also looks to be lighter, but keep in mind that if we can not accomplish what needs to be done with the time originally scheduled more days and time could be added. So it will be important for everyone to show up on time and stay focus on the night’s task. If we can do this, we will accomplish 3 things, First-Have Fun. When things are organized and moving along steadily, there is less frustration and more water time, which is what we all want. Second- More Free time, if we can stay the course and again keep organized and move along, we can get the skills developed to put on a good show in less time, which brings us to the Third Item- Perform well in shows.
We all have a little show boating in us, or none of us would even be here. We can all find a way to ski on our time; it’s the crowd that we all seek. With that in mind look for more emphasis on stage work, more dances, and intros. Stage work is the one aspect of the show in which we have total control. Land practice isn’t always the most fun aspect of what we do, but when the stage work goes smooth, so does the show. Falls happen, that’s just part of skiing. Looking sharp on stage should always happen.
If you are interested in being a part of the show committee, please send an email to fton1@msn.com. Please put in the subject line SKI BRONCS, all caps. That will make it easier to find in my junk folder for those of you not in my address book. By know means will you be required to be at every meeting, so even if you only want to be sort of involved please drop me a line and I will add you to my list.
Please feel free to contact myself or Billy Hartmann with any question, concern or comment right away. The sooner we can get issues resolved the better. Just remember the more it festers, the more it pesters.
Thank You for your support and patience,
